Yurek added the province is investing in our students and giving them every tool to reach their full potential.
TVDSB chairperson Arlene Morell credited the efforts of Elgin trustees Meagan Ruddock and Bruce Smith and noted their understanding of the challenges surrounding rural education and the willingness to make it happen is why we are here today.
Central Elgin Mayor Sally Martyn advised talks are proceeding with a developer to firm up a location. The elementary school will accommodate 345 pupils and is slated to open for the 2023-24 school year.
