It’s going to be a tumultuous Saturday in July for those living adjacent to the residential development underway at the Alma College property. City council last night (Monday) approved a noise exemption at 96 Moore Street for a 16-hour period from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. on July 4.
That day, Sierra Contracting plans to pour almost 3,000 cubic metres of concrete for an underground parking lot in Phase 1 of the three-tower project. City manager Wendell Graves say It will require approximately 350 truck loads of concrete or about 29 trucks per hour for the massive undertaking.
He adds the day-long operation should not impact local traffic
Should the weather not co-operate, the undertaking will be moved to July 11.
