Fallout from the COVID-19 outbreak at the Ontario Plants Propagation facility has now hit St. Thomas. A city resident who works at the plant tested positive for the virus over the weekend, joining at least 20 temporary foreign workers who, likewise, have positive results. Dr. Joyce Locke, medical officer of health for Southwestern Public Health stresses all of the migrant workers were quarantined after arriving in Canada.
Dr. Locke, reminds people not to let your guard down once you enter your residence.
Transportation had been arranged to bring the migrant workers to and from work each day. Approximately 240 full-time, part-time and casual employees work at the plant located on John Wise Line, between St. Thomas and Shedden.
