Effective immediately, all GoodLife and Fit4Less locations across Canada will be closing until further notice to help protect Members and Associates from the threat of COVID-19.
This decision was based on guidance from public health experts. GoodLife and Fit4Less clubs will reopen with it is safe to do so, based on direction from local authorities. This news of course will impact our local facility located in the Elgin Centre. Fit4Less says that it will continue to pay its employees for the next two weeks “to help lessen the financial burden of this tremendous change.”
The decision comes one day after the YMCA announced that it would close all of its health and fitness centres. The St. Thomas YMCA released a statement saying that “During this rapidly evolving situation, we remain committed to the health, safety and well-being of our staff, and the members, participants, families and children in our care.” “Based on all available information we have at this time, we have made the decision to close all Health, Fitness & Aquatics branches and operations effective immediately and until April 6th.”
