The St. Thomas Fire Department responded to a fire at 29 Pol Crt. last night. At around 7:18 p.m. crews responded after receiving multiple 911 calls about the house fire. When crews arrived the attached carport of the home was involved and the fire had also spread into the attic of the home.
The STFD initiated a full callback, utilizing all off duty firefighters, and the fire was quickly under control with initial crews arriving in under 3 minutes. It is reported that the car parked under the carport was destroyed in the fire.
All occupants were able to safely escape the home. The cause of the fire is still unknown at this time as the investigation continues.
