More than planes will be taking off later this year at the St. Thomas Municipal Airport. Mera Cannabis Corp. is expanding its St. Thomas operations through a leasing agreement with the city.
Last year it was awarded a processing license which allows the firm to produce cannabis products other than by cultivation, enabling it to extract and process its own cannabis oils and other cannabis derivatives. St. Thomas City Manager Wendell Graves explains that Mera’s presence is in an isolated area of the airport property.

Formerly known as Avana, the firm is focused on consumer-driven, high-value cannabis products developed at it’s flagship cultivation, processing and manufacturing facility in St. Thomas.
