The Optimist Club of St. Thomas will be hosting a Children’s Festival this Saturday (Sept 14) at Optimist Park. The event that will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. will feature many different activities and demonstrations for kids ages 5 to 12. A clown will be on hand to create balloon animals as well as provide face painting for the children. Little Ray’s Reptile Show will also be in attendance to allow kids to get up close and personal with some creepy crawlers. There will be demonstrations put on by local groups and teams including PCI’s Robotics team, the Fire Department and more.
The day will also feature a free food truck for the kids that will supply hot dogs, drinks, and fruits and vegetables. Kids are being asked to bring their bicycle’s to the event so that they can spice them up with decorations, as well as register them with the St. Thomas Community Safety Officer. The Optimist Club of St. Thomas will also be giving kids a chance to win a new bike and helmet.
