POLICE SEIZE HUNDREDS OF BICYCLES
11/2/2018 11:29:27 AM

Hundreds of bicycles and other stolen items have been recovered by St. Thomas Police.

It was the work of the Drug Enforcement project earlier this year along with the front line officers.

As the drug enforcement project culminated in early September with numerous drug seizures and charges against nearly two dozen individuals, a shift in strategy quickly occurred to address the property crime trends.

In a matter of days, information was received that prompted the activation of a new initiative lead by the Street Crimes Unit in combination with front line Officers.

As a result, the first large scale seizure occurred on Wednesday (October 31st) related to property crimes, namely bicycle thefts.

Hundreds of bicycles and bicycle parts have been seized by police from inside a St. Thomas residence.

Two individuals, a 47 year old male and a 26 year old male have been charged with Possession of Stolen Property Under $5,000.
