ST. THOMAS CELEBRATES FIRE PREVENTION WEEK
10/9/2018 8:07:52 AM

This week is fire prevention week. The week is an opportunity for the St. Thomas Fire Department to get out in the community and talk about ways that you can prevent a fire from happening in your home. This year's theme is "Look. Listen. Learn." The theme is meant to encourage people to look for potential fire hazards in their home and take action on them so a fire does not occur.

Fire Prevention Officer Bill Todd says that house fires begin to increase in the fall.

An open house is taking place on Wednesday (October 10) from 5:30 p.m. - 8 p.m. at both fire stations. They will also be holding "coffee with a fire fighter" on Friday (October 12) from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. at both McDonalds locations.
