MEN CHARGED AFTER MEDICAL MARIJUANA GROW OP THEFT

Two men are facing charges after allegedly stealing cannabis plants from a licensed medical marijuana grow operation early Tuesday morning (September 11). St. Thomas Police say that around 30 plants were taken from the compound.
    
The suspects fled the scene before police arrived on scene.
    
The suspects returned at night with a U-Haul truck. Police were called as the suspects fled in to a nearby field after they had been scared off by employees.
     
Police took the men into custody a short distance away around 4 a.m. Wednesday morning (September 12) without incident.
   
Police seized the 30 stolen plants and the rented U-Haul.
      
A 23 year old Strathroy man is charged with one count of theft under $5,000 and trespassing. A 24 year old man from London is charged with theft under $5,000.
    
They were held in custody for a court appearance.
