SPECIAL AIR QUALITY STATEMENT IN EFFECT

A special air quality statement is in effect for St. Thomas and Elgin County. High levels of air pollution is expected Monday afternoon (July 9). High levels of group ozone levels are expected from the stagnating weather conditions.      
         
There is a high risk of air quality health index vales in Port Stanley that may continue for several hours.    
          
Children, seniors and those with preexisting medical conditions are the most at risk during these conditions. You may also experience increased coughing, irritated throat, headaches or shortness of breath from the air quality this afternoon.
          
Reduce the amount of time spent outdoors this afternoon and check on anyone who you feel is vulnerable during these conditions.
