6/7/2018 3:01:32 PM

Students from Southwold Public School have made an $1,158 donation to the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital Foundation. Grade 4-6 students in the "Junior We Club" organized the "Kids helping kids movie." A $3 donation allowed students in the school to come and watch Ferdinand in the gym.

The club focuses on reaching out into the community and finding ways to help those in Elgin County.

Teacher Advisor Kyle Tabbernor says that the students really got behind the fundraiser.

Tabbernor says that the students were happy to be helping those around them.

Tabbernor says that 30 students in the club did a large amount of work planning, promoting and running the fundraiser.

The money is going towards the women and children's ward at STEGH.
