RESIDENT ESCALATES TRAFFIC STOP

A traffic stop Tuesday afternoon (May 15) escalated when a resident allegedly left his residence and threatened the police officer. The traffic stop happened near Kains and St. Catharine streets around 2:30 p.m. During the traffic stop a male left his residence and allegedly began to walk aggressively towards the officer.
        
Police say that the male made a gun gesture with his hand and yelled profanities to the officer. The male and the driver were asked to leave the area, however police say that the male resident got in the face of the officer and allegedly told him to "make me."
          
Police says that the male then made a serious verbal threat to harm the officer. He was then placed under arrest for uttering threats.
       
The 26 year old male was also on probation and is charged with one count of breach of probation. He was held in custody for a court appearance.
