88 CHILD CARE SPACES COMING TO 230 TALBOT ST 5/15/2018 5:11:04 PM
The City of St. Thomas will have 88 new child care spaces thanks to recent funding from the Provincial Government. The $2.6 million dollars will allow the City to build a new development in their "family campus" property at 230 Talbot Street.
This will be in the form of a child care facility.
City Manager Wendell Graves says that the location of the child care spaces in the City will be helpful.
Graves says that the child care facility will be built during phase two of the project. They hope that the child care facility will be on the main floor, with senior or affordable housing units above it.
The City hopes that they will begin construction on phase two in spring of 2019.
Phase one will see social services and affordable housing units be built.
