MAN CHARGED FOLLOWING ROLLOVER ON 401
3/8/2018 2:13:34 PM

A rollover on highway 401 westbound near Iona Road early Thursday morning (March 8) has resulted in a Kitchener man being charged. The incident happened just before 6 a.m. when the Elgin County OPP were called after a commercial vehicle had rolled over into the centre median.

The police say that the vehicle was traveling west when it lost control and entered the centre median. This then caused the driver to allegedly counter steer which caused the vehicle to roll onto its side. The load of metal goods spilled onto the road. The vehicle came to rest in the north ditch. No injuries were reported.

Police have charged the 45 year old driver from Kitchener with one count of careless driving. The 401 westbound was closed for most the morning but has since reopened.
