A local company is celebrating a milestone this year as it has been in business for 75 years. Dowler-Karn Limited distributes energy products such as Propane, ESSO Fuels and MOBIL Lubricants to many communities within Southwestern Ontario.
It has seven branch offices and eight fuel centres and was established in 1943. Dave Karn, Barb Molinaro and John Karn are the third generation to operate Dowler-Karn which was started by Jack and Joyce Karn.
Chief Financial Officer Dan Kelly says the business is about community.

    In 2014 Dowler-Karn was recognized by Imperial Oil as a developed Regional Distribution Centre for Ontario. In 2010 it won the Community Futures, Agricultural Business Award of Excellence.
The business has won the Imperial Oil, 4 and 5 Star Circle of Excellence Award 5 times and also a Chamber of Commerce Award in St. Thomas. It also houses the Jack & Joyce Karn Collection Museum which opened in the fall of 2010, with over 10,000 memorabilia items that have been collected over the past 60 years including a fully restored 1919 Ford Model T fuel tanker.
The collection is open to the public every Wednesday 8:00am-4:00pm in St. Thomas.
