TWO WANTED AFTER ROMANCE SCAM LEAVES WOMAN OUT $30,000

Two people are wanted for allegedly cheating a St. Thomas woman out of close to $30,000 in a romance scam. 26 year old Katelyn Smith and 23 year old Aizeyosabor Osazuwa are believed to be from the Mississauga or Brampton area. Scammers usually look for people that are emotionally vulnerable on internet dating sites.
     
After a relationship is established, the victim is hooked with a promise of a long and happy life. The scammer usually needs a lot of money for some type a personal emergency.
     
After the scammers are transferred the money, they end the relationship. There are no further emails or messages and phone numbers and social media pages are deleted.
     
This leaves the victim broke, both in their wallet and in the heart.
      
In most cases these scammers are based out of Russia or Nigeria which makes it next to impossible for Police to track or issue charges. Police believe that in this case the scammers are based out of the Mississauga or Brampton area. If you know where Smith or Osazuwa are you are asked to contact St. Thomas Police or Crime Stoppers.
