Two different drivers are facing a hefty fine for allegedly failing to stop when the school bus' red flashing lights were on. Both incidents occurred on Tuesday afternoon while the buses were on their after school runs. The first incident happened on Burwell Road with the second incident happening around the same time on South Edgeware road.
The drivers of both buses reported to police that their bus had come to a complete stop and that their red flashing lights were on, stop sign was extended and the crossing arm was out. Police say that there were also students leaving the bus at the time both incidents occurred.
Both bus drivers recorded the licence plates of the vehicles and both owners were issued at $490 fine along with 6 demerit points.
Police would like to remind you that there is no excuse not to stop for a school bus. Drive slow and pay attention.
