11/9/2017 8:22:51 AM

The grade 9 students at Central Elgin Collegiate Institute have received brand new chrome books as part of a 2-year pilot plan currently being implemented by the Thames Valley District School Board.

6 schools have been accepted for the piolet program including CECI, and if this program is successful it will be extending to the board's other high schools permanently.

Though these Chromebooks remain monitored by, and on the schoolboards server, Teacher at Central Elgin Tanya Dyke says its student's jobs to take care of their new found tech.

Approximately 155 students have received Chromebooks at Central Elgin Collegiate. The students will be able to keep the Chrome Books, even after the school year is finished. The new batch of grade 9s that go to the school next year will also receive a Chromebook as part of this pilot project.
