Parkside Collegiate Institute's 50th reunion weekend raised $20,000 for a scholarship fund. Close to 1,000 alumni from all 5 decades took part in the weekend. Both the senior and junior football teams won their games on Friday afternoon and night (October 6) which helped set the tone for a great weekend.
Money for the scholarship was raised through ticket sales and food and drinks.
Co - Chair Catharine Sloan says they didn't set a specific fundraising goal.
The funds allow them to set up a scholarship fund through the Thames Valley Foundation for Parkside students for the next 25 years.
The weekend also included a pub night, decade memorabilia rooms, live entertainment, a breakfast and a time capsule burial.
