The housing market in the St. Thomas area remains strong. According to London and St. Thomas Association of REALTORS (LSTAR), for a third year in a row over 800 houses were sold (802) in September. St. Thomas saw a total of 71 homes sold, up 6% from the same time last year. The average home price in St. Thomas was over $272,251, up just slightly (0.6%) from August.
LSTAR President Jim Smith says the nice weather played a factor in the increase in sales.

Smith that these latest numbers overall suggest that the market is beginning to balance out. The year-to-date sales are still up 13.1% from this time last year.
