POLICE: BRANTFORD WOMAN FACES CHARGES FOR ASSAULTING POLICE

A 20-year-old Brantford woman is facing charges after an incident early Tuesday morning.
   
St. Thomas Police say that they arrested the woman shortly before 6:00am on Hamilton Street, for being intoxicated in a public place. She was allegedly trying to enter a residence that was not hers and refused to stop trying.

While behind bars, police say that the suspect began smashing her head off the cell doors, injuring herself. She was sent to the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital for treatment. While there, the woman allegedly began kicking, punching, and attempting to bite the officers, nurses, and security Officers. Police say that she even spat in the face of an officer.

She has been charged for assaulting police and was released from custody once she sobered up. She will appear in court at a later date.
