5/16/2017 12:05:18 PM

A 41-year-old St. Thomas woman is in a boatload of trouble after going through a R.I.D.E. program.

It was around 9:00pm Monday night (May 15) that officers set up the R.I.D.E. program at Ross and Hemlock Streets.

The woman came through the stop in her vehicle and was visibly upset, according to police. After detecting the odour of alcohol on her breath, officers asked the woman to pull the vehicle over. As she did, she allegedly pulled out her cell phone and attempted to make a call.

It was determined that the woman had 2x the legal limit of alcohol in her system. During the arrest, officers located 5.2 grams of cocaine in the suspect's pocket and a travel mug filled with wine. She was also listed as a suspended driver and was unable to provide any documents for the vehicle.

She now faces multiple charges including; Drive more than 80mgs of alcohol, possession of cocaine, Drive while suspended, Drive while using a hand held communication device, and Drive with open container of alcohol.
